In the mid-1980s, Denholm sought to diversify from its traditional marine markets of ship management and ownership.
Its maritime experience had brought the company into contact with the growing marine and offshore services sector in Aberdeen, where a business called Bion was supplying industrial painting and cleaning services to the offshore sector.
Denholm acquired a 51% stake in Bion in 1985 and from these roots Denholm Industrial Services was born. Through the balance of the 1980s, Denholm acquired the rest of the shareholding in Bion, which was renamed Denholm Industrial Services. As the years progressed and Denholm Industrial Services grew, it extended into naval dockyards, painting and scaffolding warships, submarines and other infrastructure assets within these dockyards.
Over the years the business has continued to evolve into a number of other key sectors, which today form the focus of our delivery. Denholm Industrial Services operates across the UK with strategically located sites that allow us to serve the needs of our clients.
